Uninterrupted: views off the highway

by Preston Cox

Exhibition Open: April 1 - June 21
Opening Reception: April 12 from 5:30-7:30pm

I love movement.

If you ask anyone about me, they are likely to say I am always moving. Through movement and the way it impacts colors, I create loosely defined landscapes, seascapes and contemporary paintings. Through my mediums of acrylic on canvas, ink wash, and acrylic on paper, I capture the feelings emoted by places.  My art is not always based upon a specific location, but often is from memories of places seen, or a particular feeling evoked from these memories.  My hope is that when people slow down and look at my paintings, they will remember their own places and their own memories.  If I can create new feelings through my art and people take these feelings with them, then I have accomplished what I intended.
